I won't bother with Percy Jackson then, unless I go through the career of Steve Coogan, Joe Pantoliano or Rosario Dawson (I don't care much for Pierce Brosnan or Uma Thurman). 3:10 to Yuma is great, but I don't remember him in it, so I'll be needing to watch that one again sometime soon. I'd heard nothing but terrible things from the Three Musketeers, so I'd already forgotten it had ever existed.JayCluitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16972011198109066985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7072729371563273515.post-82065266042332026972013-03-07T16:08:28.888+00:002013-03-07T16:08:28.888+00:00I'm back. You can read it here, if you want: http://tipsfromchip.blogspot.com/2013/03/movie-perks-of-being-wallflower-2012.html

I can understand your reaction to this film. The bit about the loner magically finding some great people to be a part of is the biggest leap you have to make in the film, but if you do then I think it will have a large impact on people. It obviously did on you.

Lerman's Percy Jackson film isn't that great, although it is definitely aimed at children. A better performance from him, although in a smaller role, comes in the 3:10 to Yuma remake. His Three Musketeers remake was silly.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7072729371563273515.post-43016899787704979202013-03-05T12:46:05.403+00:002013-03-05T12:46:05.403+00:00I look forward to reading your thoughts on it!I look forward to reading your thoughts on it!JayCluitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16972011198109066985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7072729371563273515.post-76902098497566438552013-03-05T12:45:36.837+00:002013-03-05T12:45:36.837+00:00Thanks Siobhan. Try to wait to see the film until you've forgotten me harping on about it, that way your expectations should be lower.JayCluitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16972011198109066985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7072729371563273515.post-80972337918806704412013-03-05T02:05:27.416+00:002013-03-05T02:05:27.416+00:00I haven't read this post yet, but I am bookmar...I haven't read this post yet, but I am bookmarking it for later. I'm going to be writing my review of this film is a couple days as part of my Top 10 of 2012 and I didn't want to subconsciously steal from you. I'll be back here after I've posted mine to see what you wrote.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7072729371563273515.post-4211281557954445872013-03-05T00:46:25.327+00:002013-03-05T00:46:25.327+00:00Dude, you're allowed to have a profound emotio...Dude, you're allowed to have a profound emotional reaction to a film that you weren't expecting. I haven't seen the movie, but your writing about it makes me intrigued. It just made the "Someday" watch list.

And I like that you point out that Hollywood teaches outsiders that they will one day magically fit in. siochembiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11487373396181856763noreply@blogger.com
